American Ballet Theatre:   Join us this Fall Season for the World Premiere of Christopher Rudd’s new work LIFTED, as well as ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky’s full-length ballet WHIPPED CREAM. Repertory works by Ratmansky, Frederick Ashton, Jiří Kylián, and Jessica Lang will round out the season, which marks Kevin McKenzie’s final New York season as Artistic Director.

Created by ABT Soloist Gabe Stone Shayer, PAS DE DEUX takes viewers into the homes and workspaces of each dancer and collaborator, allowing these diverse creators the opportunity to connect virtually for an exchange of ideas. Gabrielle Cavassa, a 26-year-old vocalist from New Orleans and recent winner of the 2021 Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition, brought her quartet to play original ballads.

The Exit Zero Jazz Festival began in 2012 and occurs twice a year in Cape May, the quaint shore town on the most southern tip of New Jersey, with a lineup combining marquee talent with young musicians from around the country. For singer and eight-time Blues Award winner Shemekia Copeland, Exit Zero was only her second gig in front of a crowd in over a year.

"I had already told myself we wouldn't go back to work until 2022," said Copeland, "so for me, everything I do the second half of [2021] is a bonus, you know, and I really feel grateful for it." Watch Copeland perform highlights from her firecracker set at the 2021 Exit Zero Jazz Festival.
