Studios North and the Glen Fine Arts Building are the creative hubs exclusive to the Fine Arts students. 
 
The Printmaking Studio is located in the Richard and Barbara Basch Visual Arts Center.

Our Business of Art and Design degree equips students with the design and management skills, tools, and professional experience employers value most in today’s economy. Immerse yourself in all aspects of the creative industries, collaborate on teams across creative disciplines, and learn strategies for taking your ideas from concept to market.

Self Directed BA Program

Our Visual Studies degree is one-of-a-kind and personally tailored to offer maximum flexibility and exploration. Today’s world requires nimble thinking. Learn to approach problems from different perspectives, build advanced problem-solving skills, explore the creative process, conduct critical analysis, and communicate ideas clearly and effectively. Study up to three minors while still receiving a top-quality liberal arts education paired with studio courses.
 
Build a Custom Program
The BA in Visual Studies program is founded on choice. As a student of this major you can select a series of minors as your course of study and customize your learning experience. Visual Studies is designed to allow for flexibility, independent curriculum selection and choice. We emphasize breadth of experience and encourage exploration.  Choose from these minors: 
 

 
PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING
 
Photography is everywhere and is in a period of unprecedented change, with constantly evolving technological advancements and multimedia possibilities that are redefining what it means to be a professional photographer. 
 

 
ILLUSTRATION BFA
 
Master the fundamentals of color, composition, and anatomy in both traditional and digital media, and learn to compose effective and compelling illustrations. Study character design, development, and storyboarding in our Visual Development program.


CREATIVE WRITING
 
Pursuing the Creative Writing degree at Ringling College means joining a group of writers passionate about stories. Students benefit from craft instruction from practicing writers/teachers and close interactions with visiting authors, scholars, and publishing professionals.

Ringling College Press

Founded in 2018, the Ringling College Press gives students firsthand experience with editing and producing real-world products, such as our international literary journal, Shift: A Journal of Literary Oddities, and books such as Anyone’s Game: Opening Moves. This teaching press prepares students for potential careers in the publishing industry. It also promotes research and encourages cultural expression while enhancing and extending the reputation of the Creative Writing major.

Visiting Writers Forum

Every Creative Writing major at Ringling College participates in the Visiting Writers Forum by reading samples of an author’s work before attending an on-campus reading and talk.

Students discover the various career blueprints directly from successful, working wordsmiths.
